Role of Diet in High Blood Pressure

Definition

Blood pressure which remains consistently high compared to once / twice is named hypertension.

? Leafy green vegetables - mustard leaves, broccoli, fenugreek garden, collards, kale, turnip veg, colocasia leaves and bok choy or Chinese cabbage are fantastic sources of calcium.

? Whole grain products - wheat, brown rice and millets especially finger millet has lots of calcium.

? Certain fruits like : custard apple and banana are high in calcium.

? Other food selection sources are peas, lotus stalk, pulses, legumes and coconut oil seeds.

? Reduce intake of diet within saturated fats e. v. meat, eggs, milk options, cheese, butter etc.

? Avoid foods within cholesterol: ground nut coconut oil, ghee, butter, whole dairy, eggs, lard (fats via pig meat), tallow (fats via goat or sheep mutton), slimy fish, meats and steak - all non-vegetarian cooking contain cholesterol in numerous amount.

? Avoid non-vegetarian food especially steak.

? Increase intake of foods that incorporate PUFA's (poly unsaturated fat acids): flax / linseed oil comes from richest source of PUFA's. Other oils that incorporate PUFA's are safflower fat, soybean oil, cottonseed organic olive oil, maize oil, sesame organic olive oil, rich bran oil, arena nut oil, mustard oil and olive oils. As all oils are high in fats, its consumption gardening limited. The intake of oils should not exceed 20gms a daytime.

? Consume whole wheat cereals and whole pulses.

? Take high fiber diet - whole grain products, bran, oat, green leafy vegetables, peas, beans, melons, raw vegetables, salads, dried vegetables and fresh fruits.

? Eat vegatables and fruits with the skin.

? Cut down the intake of sugar and other sweetening.

? Replace whole milk with semi-skimmed or skimmed use.

? Avoid fat-rich accessories flesh foods. Instead have only lean meat.

? So that you can fat-rich desserts and fried snacks like cakes, something to eat, puddings etc

? Instead of their time frying food boil, smoke, grill or roast food.

? Avoid coffee and tea.

Note:

? Quit smoking and alcohol.

? Shed unwanted weight if obese

? Walk every day briskly having a minimum of 30 minutes.

? Meditation & yoga will reduce and tackle pressure.

? Take medicines regularly and go for regular checkups.
